Scottish Volleyball is committed to ensuring every child and young person who takes part in the disciplines of Volleyball should be able to participate in an enjoyable and safe environment.

This should promote inclusion and protects them from harm, poor practice, exploitation, bullying and abuse.

Wellbeing and Protection of Children Policy

The Wellbeing & Protection Policy: Children & Young People covers the following: Policy statement, Definition of a “Child”. Roles and responsibilities in safeguarding, protecting children from Wellbeing concerns /poor practice /abuse, Identifying Abuse, Responding to Concerns, Reporting the Concern, Recording Information, Procedure for managing cases of abuse and poor practice and Referral to Disclosure Scotland.

Scottish Volleyball values a rights-based approach within our sport. Our safeguarding policy takes into account the National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland 2014 and the principals of “Getting it Right for Every Child” (GIRFEC) and we recognise the general principals of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). Staff and volunteers will work together to embrace difference and diversity, and will respect the rights of children and young people.
