Margaret Ann

Fleming MBE

Chief Executive Officer

Margaret Ann Fleming MBE has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Volleyball since 2008–2009, leading the organisation from its Edinburgh headquarters. Prior to her appointment, Margaret Ann made history as the first female President of the Scottish Volleyball Association in 2004, following an early passion for sport and Volleyball developed during her time at Dunfermline College of Physical Education (now part of Edinburgh University). Under her leadership, Scottish Volleyball has strengthened its national programs, staffing structures, club and community programmes and organisational governance. Margaret Ann has extended Scottish Volleyball’s influence internationally: she has been a member of the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) Board since 2011 and is currently a Board member, CEV Vice President from 2015 to 2024, President of the CEV Small Countries Association for 8 years, and, in 2020-2024 elected as FIVB Vice President and re-elected to the FIVB Board of Administration in 2024. In recognition of her contributions to Volleyball and female leadership in sport, she received an MBE from the Queen Elizabeth in 2018.

Blair

Pettigrew

Head of Development
Blair Pettigrew is the Head of Development at Scottish Volleyball, leading the sport’s growth and engagement strategy across Scotland. He has a BA (Hons) in Sports Development from Glasgow University and previously worked as the Regional Development Officer for the west region, he brings extensive, community sport, public- and third-sector experience to the role. His work includes spearheading school-based initiatives like the CEV “Play Volleyball – Grow with it” project, which empowered young leaders to bring volleyball into primary schools. He also has overview of all domestic competition and events whilst managing the community, foundation, workforce, and competition officers.  In addition to his national duties, he was recently elected President of the CEV Small Countries Association, amplifying Scotland’s voice across European volleyball on top of his responsibilities with Scottish Volleyball. Blair is also a CEV supervisor and sits on the Head of Development working group with sportscotland. 

Ally

Jack

Head of Performance & Coaching

Ally Jack is the Head of Performance and Coaching at Scottish Volleyball, a role he stepped into in April 2025 following his tenure as Indoor Performance and Coaching Manager. In this expanded position, he provides strategic leadership across all national indoor and beach squad performance programmes, in addition to modernizing coach education and athlete support systems. His appointment builds on his work since May 2023—initially funded through a partnership between FIVB’s Empowerment initiative, sportscotland, and Scottish Volleyball. Current head coach of Scotland’s men’s national volleyball team, Ally holds both a Master’s in Performance Coaching from the University of Stirling and an FIVB Level III coaching qualification.

Tyler

Hurdle

Competitions & Events Officer

Tyler Hurdle is the Competitions & Events Officer at Scottish Volleyball, a position he began in October 2025. In this role, he oversees the coordination and delivery of domestic leagues, tournaments, and events across Scotland, contributing significantly to the sport’s growth during a period of rising participation. Before joining Scottish Volleyball, he completed a Master’s degree in Sport Policy, Management & International Development at the University of Edinburgh and held various international sports roles, including as a volleyball coach and sports marketing and operations intern across the UK, US, and Bermuda.

Danny

Traylor

Welfare & Workforce Officer

Danny Traylor is the dedicated Welfare & Workforce Officer at Scottish Volleyball, overseeing the wellbeing, safeguarding, and workforce development of the sport across Scotland. As the primary point of contact for wellbeing and protection queries, Danny manages safe‑recruitment processes, PVG applications, and supports clubs on all aspects of athlete welfare. In his workforce capacity, he plays a key role in fostering and retaining volunteers and coaches. Danny has been involved with volleyball in Scotland  for over 25 years when he starting his playing career with City of Edinburgh. After a stint at Missouri Baptist University in St Louis, Missouri, he returned home to continue his volleyball with coaching City of Edinburgh Women’s programme. He currently coaches the Scottish Women’s Senior National teams and competes in the SVL Premier with NUVOC.

Maddy

Weber

Foundation Development Officer

Maddy Weber has been serving as the Foundation Development Officer for Scottish Volleyball since July 2024. In this role, she passionately drives grassroots initiatives, working closely with schools, local authorities, and Active Schools networks to expand volleyball participation by providing opportunities to play and learn about the sport. She leads volleyball courses for school pupils, volunteers, and teachers growing their knowledge about all facets of volleyball across Scotland. A former NCAA Division I athlete at Northern Kentucky University, Maddy brings both high-level playing experience and coaching insight, currently competing in Scotland’s SVL Premier League with Su Ragazzi. She leads the CEV Schools Project and organizes regional Schools Festivals and the Schools Scottish Cup, enhancing foundational volleyball pathways throughout the nation.

Lorna

McAvoy

Community Development Officer

Lorna McAvoy is the Community Development Officer at Scottish Volleyball, responsible for growing recreational, student, sitting and school-to-club opportunities across Scotland. In her role, she works with clubs, schools, colleges and community partners to create accessible pathways into the sport, deliver local programmes and strengthen links between different areas of volleyball provision. Lorna came to volleyball later in life and played four seasons with Edinburgh Jets, helping a newly formed team progress into SVL Division 1. She has also coached secondary school volleyball in New Zealand and competed in a district recreational league in France. Her international and grassroots experience informs a practical, participant-focused approach to developing volleyball communities across Scotland.

Sinclair

Logistics & Operations Lead

Lewis Sinclair serves as the Logistics & Operations Lead for Performance and Coaching at Scottish Volleyball; a role focused on ensuring the smooth delivery of national team operations and high-performance programs. He manages the logistical side of training camps, competitions, and international travel, coordinating schedules, venues, and resources to support athletes and coaches at every level. Lewis plays a key part in bridging planning and execution, making sure performance squads have everything they need to succeed while maintaining compliance with organisational standards.

Hannah

Clark

Hannah Clark is the Office and Membership Officer for Scottish Volleyball, responsible for managing the organization’s administrative operations and supporting its growing membership base. Her role includes overseeing member services, processing registrations, and ensuring smooth communication between clubs, players, and the national governing body. Hannah plays a key part in maintaining efficient office systems while delivering excellent support to the volleyball community.
