Staff Changes at Scottish Volleyball 

We are delighted to inform our membership that Veronica Rusich today, after a successful interview, started her role as Development and National Club Officer for the East Region.  As part of an ongoing realignment of roles within the organisation she will also have a national remit for Clubs. Veronica recently completed her masters in Sports Law and Practice at De Monfort University, and will continue to be part of the performance team alongside Blair and Felipe.  Veronica’s new email address will be  

Blair Pettigrew remains as our Regional Development and National Pathways Officer in the West, but also takes on a national remit for the management and delivery of pathways in our sport. Blair will also continue to work closely with Felipe, our new High Performance Head Coach and Beach Programme manager, in his beach performance operations role. Blair also takes on the games time role of Head of Performance for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Felipe’s email address is and Blair’s email continues to be 

John Scrimgeour continues in his role as Interim Coaching Manager throughout this summer, with a key responsibility for the indoor national teams; his email is 

We would like to warmly welcome Rowan Johnston to the Competitions and Events Officer role on an interim six-month contract.  Rowan recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a master’s degree in Sport Policy, Management and International Development, and has been involved in the Special Events Commission with Scottish Volleyball for several years.  Rowan will take the email address and will have responsibility for all domestic competitions across all disciplines.  

Ben Pipes, who has been providing enhanced support to Scottish Volleyball from sportcotland in a performance capacity developing our beach programme, has finished in his role with us. We would like to give a massive vote of thanks for his support, expertise and knowledge and wish him all the best for his new remit in sportscotland.
