39th FIVB World congress took place last weekend in Porto, Portugal 14th -18th November. This was yet another first for me as the President of Scottish Volleyball.
Last weekend, Oriam hosted the Rising Stars Challenge Series between Scotland and Northern Ireland. The event offered the participating athletes the chance to compete in a series of 3 matches but also to develop their skills under the tutelage of FIVB instructor, Chris Kreuger.
Jamie Salvin, one of our highest level international beach referees, has recently been appointed to the Euro Beach Championships, held this year in the Hague in the Netherlands. Kicking off straight after the conclusion of the Paris Olympics, the draw for both the men and women’s competitions is full of the big names from the Beach Volleyball world, including number one seeds and gold medal winners Åhman and Hellvig.
Scottish Volleyball is excited to announce the upcoming Rising Stars Camp, designed to elevate the skills of our Under 20 Women’s National Team while providing coaching insight and experience from an FIVB expert. This unique event will take place from Friday, 16th August to Sunday, 18th August, at Oriam, Edinburgh, and promises to be a highlight in our sporting calendar.
