Perth and Kinross Local League
2025–26: Season Round-Up
The 2025–26 Perth and Kinross Local League season came to a close with a busy run of final fixtures and end of season activity, bringing together teams from across the region for a year of competitive and social volleyball.
Recreational League
The Recreational League title race went right down to the final matches, with the top teams separated by just a few points heading into the final round of fixtures at Perth College UHI.
A closely contested evening saw results shift throughout, with several matches going the distance and league positions still in play across both courts. Everything ultimately came down to the final match between Lewis’ Children and Aberuthven, with both sides in contention for the title.
Lewis’ Children produced a strong performance when it mattered most, pulling away in key moments across both sets to secure the win and lift the title. As a new team this season, their success marks an impressive debut and a strong first year in the league.
Premier League
The Premier League also concluded with a competitive final night of fixtures, with teams trading results across the evening.
Dodgy Spikers opened with a win over league leaders Clackers, while Mental Blocks delivered one of the standout performances of the night with a convincing victory over the same opposition. Across the round, matches remained competitive, with tight scorelines and one match finishing as a draw.
The final set of results capped off a strong Premier League season, with all teams contributing to a good standard of play throughout.
End of Season Activity
Alongside league competition, clubs across Perth and Kinross continue to create opportunities for players to come together in more informal and social settings.
Kinross Volleyball Club’s end of season mini volleyball “scramble” tournament once again provided a lively and well supported close to the indoor season. With teams reshuffled every round, the format created a fast paced and inclusive environment, with individual performances tracked across the evening.
The Fiona Wilkie Memorial Trophy, awarded in memory of the club’s long serving treasurer, was shared on the men’s side by Lachlan McLean and Connor Scott, while Orianna Bebun was the leading female player.
Opportunities to Keep Playing
Volleyball activity in the area continues beyond the league season. Free outdoor “Pop Up and Play” sessions will run from April through to August at Loch Leven Community Campus, offering a relaxed and accessible way for players to stay involved over the summer months.
The Kinross club is also preparing for a number of outdoor events, including the Scottish Open Volleyball Tournament on Perth’s North Inch, which continues to grow as one of the UK’s largest outdoor volleyball events.
Alongside these local opportunities, Scottish Volleyball will also deliver a Spring 4s tournament in Dundee on 9 May. Designed as a fun, entry-level format, the event offers another way for players to stay involved and enjoy competitive play as the season transitions.
