Scottish Volleyball is delighted to announce the appointment of Georgia Shirreffs to the Board of Scottish Volleyball.
Georgia joins the Scottish Volleyball Board in a co-opted position for a term of two years, as the new Board Governance and Compliance Officer.
Working as a corporate solicitor, Georgia acts in high-value transactions and advises on a wide range of corporate matters, including share sales, business restructuring and corporate governance. Georgia has experience of both the Scottish and American legal systems, having worked for a law firm in New York after completing her law degree. Outside of work, Georgia enjoys volunteering and currently sits on the wellbeing, social and charities committees in her firm as well as being a first aider and mental health first aider. In her spare time, Georgia likes to travel and, when possible, scuba dive, hoping to complete her advanced PADI certification soon.
Margaret Ann Fleming MBE, CEO of Scottish Volleyball, commented, “It is rare to find someone of Georgia’s expertise, knowledge, experience and talent who is willing to give her valuable time as a volunteer to support our sport.
“Georgia will develop, deliver and steer our Board and sport through best practice compliance and will ensure that as an organisation we give members, stakeholders and partners high-quality governance.
“On behalf of the Board, staff and personally from me, welcome Georgia and thank you”
