Scotland’s young beach volleyball athletes made a strong impression at this year’s international U18 competition, marking an exciting milestone for the sport’s development in the country.

Our men’s pair, Aaron and Gabriel, delivered a standout performance throughout the tournament, ultimately securing a silver trophy after a hard-fought final. Their second-place finish not only earned them well-deserved silverware, but it also secured Scotland a main draw spot in next year’s U18 CEV Beach Championships!

Meanwhile, our women’s duo, Sehr and Grace, demonstrated grit and determination throughout their campaign. On Day 3, they capped off a strong showing with an impressive 2-0 victory over Ireland in the playoff matches. The win was a highlight of their tournament, showcasing their growth as a team and promising potential for future competitions. They finished joint 5th overall.

Coach Rachael travelled out with the teams and had this to say about the tournament: “It was great to get to work with the teams out in Andorra this weekend. I’m really happy for the boys bringing home 2nd place, they played really well throughout the tournament, and it was great to see the girls improve throughout and get the win in their last match! It’s also great to have qualified for a main draw spot at next year’s U18 European Championships as well, an exciting time for the spot in Scotland!”

Congratulations to all the athletes and coaches involved, and a big thanks to our International Beach Referee Jamie Salvin, who made the trip out to represent Scotland on the stand!
