The Scotland Senior Women’s National Team topped the podium at the 2025 CEV SCA Championships in Dublin, going unbeaten across four matches to claim the gold medal.
Scotland opened their campaign on Friday with a confident 3–0 win over Northern Ireland (25–17, 25–19, 26–25), showing early control at the net and from the service line. They followed that up on Saturday with another straight-sets win, this time against San Marino (25–16, 25–19, 25–20), handling pressure moments with composure.
On Sunday, despite two matches in the day, they delivered their most dominant performance of the tournament against Iceland, winning 3–0 (25–17, 25–13, 25–16). They closed the weekend with a well-managed 3–1 victory over hosts Ireland (25–16, 28–26, 25–19, 25–23) to seal the title and finish top of the standings.
The team’s efforts were reflected in a sweep of individual awards for Scotland players:
· Emma Waldie – Best Setter
· Shona Fraser – Best Opposite
· Alexis Crusey – Best Outside
· Carly Murray – Best Middle Blocker
Scotland’s squad also featured four Tartan Talent Pathway graduates – Jess Burns, Holly Scott, Sasha Clegg-McKeown, and Lucy Paterson – all of whom contributed meaningfully across the weekend and continue to progress through the senior programme.
Ally Jack, Head of Performance and Coaching, commented: “It was a solid and professional weekend from the group. Across all four matches, we played with control and intensity, executing well under pressure. To finish with four wins and four individual awards is a real credit to the team and staff. It’s also great to see players who’ve come through the pathway now playing key roles at senior level.”
Scottish Volleyball would like to thank Volleyball Ireland and the SCA for hosting a well-organised and competitive tournament. Congratulations to all the players and staff on a brilliant result.
