With the SVL deadline passing for the 2024-2025 season, we are excited to have three new clubs joining the leagues this year, alongside three new teams from clubs already involved in the league! New to the league we have Stirling University, playing in Men’s Division Two, Glasgow Outdoor Volleyball Club, playing in Women’s Division Two, and returning to the SVL after a year’s break, Dundee University, playing in Men’s Division Two.
We caught up with Stirling and Dundee University to check in with them ahead of the start of the indoor season.
Stirling University:
“We are excited to join the SVL and look forward to some good games this season! We have decided to enter one Men’s team into division two this season and hope to do well.
We decided to enter the SVL because we aim to expand the club further and this would allow some of our less experienced players to get the chance to have more play time with the team against tough opponents and further improve their skills. In addition to this, it would allow us to promote the club outwith the University League further and hopefully pull in some more experienced players to further improve the overall skill of the club.
We are most looking forward to facing a more diverse range of competition. We would get to play teams we don’t normally get to aside from friendly games and we are looking forward to allowing our less experienced players more game time.

Dundee University:
What Teams have you entered this year: Men’s Division 2 Team
Why did you decide to enter: Scottish Volleyball League enables alumni to continue playing the sport in a competitive setting, against high quality teams. SVL allows a mixture of university students and professionals, creating a fantastic dynamic on court.
What are you most looking forward to: We are looking forward to play against teams out with the university realm. Most importantly, we are very excited to meet our opponent in the finals.
