Scottish Volleyball Launches VolleyVision Following sportscotland Funding Success

Scottish Volleyball is delighted to announce that, following a successful bid to the sportscotland Growth and Innovation Fund, our Project Elevate initiative, VolleyVision, will launch this week.

The new project will improve the production quality of our live-streamed matches through direct investment in the hardware and software needed to provide a modern, high-quality viewing experience.

The first improvements will be visible later this month to viewers of the CEV U20 Men’s First Round Qualifier at Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre. We are excited that all matches will be streamed free of charge on the European Volleyball YouTube channel.

Workforce Officer Danny Traylor, who is leading the VolleyVision developments, said: “We have made huge strides in our streaming coverage of major events such as cup finals. This investment from sportscotland will help take us to a new level.”

Head of Development Blair Pettigrew added “developing our inhouse production capabilities has been a long-term project, this additional funding will help not only increase the quality of our streaming but the quantity of matches we can cover and show our product to a wider audience”

We are now recruiting volunteers to support the rollout of the project, with the aim of covering domestic league matches in the near future. The roles require neither volleyball-specific knowledge nor technical expertise and offer a valuable opportunity to gain experience in sports broadcasting. Although the roles are unpaid, reasonable out-of-pocket expenses, a uniform and full training will be provided.
