Scottish Volleyball is pleased to confirm that registrations are now open for the Tartan Talent Discover sessions for the 2025-26 season – the first step for athletes aspiring to represent Scotland on the national stage.

This year, eight Discover sessions will take place across Scotland throughout August and September, providing more opportunities than ever for players to be seen and to experience training in a high-performance environment with Scotland’s national team coaches.
The Discover sessions are designed to:
- Offer young players the chance to work with experienced coaches from the national programme
- Provide a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and potential
- Form the starting point for selection into the Tartan Talent Academy and future national teams
From these sessions, up to 80 athletes (40 boys and 40 girls) will be selected to join the Academy, training monthly from October to March as part of Scottish Volleyball’s long-term player development pathway. Athletes not immediately selected will have access to Futures sessions, ensuring that all players continue to receive opportunities to develop throughout the season.
Eligibility
To register, athletes must:
- Hold or be eligible for a British passport
- Have started playing volleyball in Scotland, or have played here from age 14
- Hold a valid 2025-26 Tier 1 membership
- Born 2008 or later

Discover sessions will run from August 16 to September 14, 2025, with venues in Edinburgh, Dundee, Glasgow, Stirling, and Perth.
Athletes are encouraged to attend 2–4 sessions where possible to maximise their opportunity to be seen by national team coaches.
