Scotland is set to make waves on the international beach volleyball stage this summer as it prepares to host a leg of the 2025 SCA (Small Countries Association) Beach Volleyball Zonal Tour. The tournament, scheduled from the 18th to the 20th of July, will be held on the inland courts at Kyle Academy in Ayr, marking a major milestone in Scotland’s growing beach volleyball scene. Having last hosted in 2023, Scottish Volleyball is excited to be bringing international beach volleyball back to the sand in Scotland.
The SCA Zonal Tour features teams from European countries, including Monaco, Liechtenstein, Ireland and Andorra. By hosting the event, Scotland is not only showcasing its rising talent but also strengthening its presence in the European volleyball community. Local players, including several Scottish national team hopefuls, will have the rare chance to compete on home sand against some of Europe’s best.
“We are incredibly proud to be welcoming back the SCA Beach Volleyball Zonal Tour to Scotland,” said Scottish Volleyball CEO Margaret Ann Fleming MBE. “This is a unique opportunity to bring elite competition to our shores and to inspire a new generation of beach volleyball players across the country.”
With athletes from over a dozen nations expected to participate, the event will showcase high-level competition in both the men’s and women’s divisions. Spectators can expect fast-paced action and a lively festival atmosphere. Working alongside South Ayrshire Council, we hope to host volleyball activation sessions at the event. The SV development team is also planning to run a grass tournament, so keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for more information on this.
Scottish Volleyball is also seeking volunteers, sponsors, and community partners to help deliver a standout event. If you are interested, please reach out to competitions@scottishvolleyball.org! More details will be shared soon.
