Following on from our exciting announcement this morning of our new structure for Performance and Coaching within Scottish Volleyball, we are pleased to share the job description for Scotland Beach Head Coach. Working closely with Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), Scottish Volleyball have restructured the FIVB Empowerment support to hire a Beach Head Coach to focus on coaching performance and development athletes.
The Scotland Beach Head Coach will be responsible for planning and delivering regular coaching sessions for all development and age-group athletes, as well as monthly national training weekends for senior and performance athletes in line with programme objectives. They will work collaboratively with network and junior coaches to support long-term athlete development and facilitate the achievement of Scottish Volleyball’s Beach Volleyball Key Performance Indicators. Additionally, the role will include leading the Scottish National Beach Team, managing athlete recruitment and development, engaging with other National Federations to create development opportunities, and contributing to coach education both in-person and online. The Beach Head Coach will also support the creation and utilisation of feedback reports and individual development plans, ensuring a structured approach to athlete progression.
The Scotland Beach Head Coach will work with Ally and Adam as well as our network of Beach athletes to deliver training sessions to our Beach athletes whilst supporting network coaches and performance athletes. To allow the Beach Head Coach to focus on coaching, developing athletes, and upskilling coaches, the Logistics Operations Lead will take charge of managing the Beach programme. It is hoped that up to 80% of the Scotland Beach Head Coach’s time will be dedicated to Junior and Development athletes in the Beach Programme whilst supporting performance pairs in dedicated training camps and upskilling their network pair coaches.
