The Scottish Volleyball Cup and Plate semi-finals took place on March the 15th, 2025, at the sportscotland National Sports Training Centre Inverclyde in Largs, showcasing thrilling matches that set the stage for an exciting Cup Finals Weekend.
Men’s Cup Semi-Finals:
League leaders City of Glasgow Ragazzi took on NUVOC, winning the match with a decisive 3-0 win over their Edinburgh based opponents. In a highly anticipated match, Glasgow Mets faced City of Edinburgh, with City of Edinburgh booking their place in the final with a comfortable 3-0 win.

Women’s Cup Semi-Finals:
In the first Cup match of the day, City of Edinburgh beat NUVOC 3-0. Glasgow Mets and Edinburgh University took to the court next, with the Glasgow team also taking home the win with a 3-0 victory.

Men’s Plate Semi-Finals:
Lenzie VC were up first in their qualifier against City of Edinburgh 2. The division one team took the win with a comfortable 3-0 victory over their division two counterparts. Volleyball Aberdeen Vortex got off to a shaky start in their match, losing the first set 25-21 to the uni team. They won the next 3 sets to qualify for the finals.

Women’s Plate Semi-Finals:
Our one and only 5 setter of the day saw Edinburgh University 2 go 2 nil up, before a resilient Su Ragazzi 2 team clawed their way back to take the win 3-2. In a slightly quicker game, Edinburgh Jets 2 lost against a dominant St Andrews University team, falling 3-0.
