NUVOC Volleyball Club aim to make history in the next round of SVL Fixtures; with their inaugural SVL SUPER SATURDAY event.

The club will put down the Taraflex floor at Liberton High School, with all four of the club’s SVL teams taking on all four teams of their capital rivals, City of Edinburgh.

It will be a special day, with the aim of a party atmosphere with strong support for home and away teams. Club Head Coach Bill Stobie commented:

“As a club, we’ve spent a long time preparing for this type of feature fixture as a possibility. To see it come to fruition through the hard work of so many club members is just brilliant. And, I can’t think of any better rival club to kick start our SVL Super Saturdays. I really hope this one is the first of many!”

The event is open to attend (donations welcome) and we hope to have a lot of support around the court to add to the special day.

Not only is it a big day in terms of the set-up, but 4 very important SVL fixtures too:

09:45 FBS – St.Thomas’ NUVOC 🆚 City of Edinburgh 2 (SVL Two W)

12:00 FBS – NUVOC Women 🆚 City of Edinburgh (SVL Premier W)

14:15 FBS – NUVOC Men 🆚 City of Edinburgh (SVL Premier M)

16:30 FBS – Liberton NUVOC 🆚 City of Edinburgh (SVL Two M)

– St.Thomas’s NUVOC have already played City of Edinburgh 2 this season and it was an epic 5-set battle. With both teams looking towards the promotion places in SVL Two, it’s a massive game to start off SUPER SATURDAY.

– Following on, a new look NUVOC Women will take on defending champions, City of Edinburgh. It’s shaping up to be a very competitive division and every point and set will be important for the team this season.

– The third game of the day sees a rematch of last season’s cup final as NUVOC Men take on City of Edinburgh, with the NUVOC lads looking to put some more points on the board after taking 2 from 6 so far.

– Finishing the day, we see undefeated Liberton NUVOC take on City of Edinburgh 2. It’s sure to be a brilliant match up to finish that day, with Liberton NUVOC looking to continue their strong start to the season and challenge at the top of the division, and finish off SVL Super Saturday in style.
