Scottish Volleyball Announce new Head of Development

Scottish Volleyball is delighted to announce the appointment of Blair Pettigrew as the new Head of Development. Blair’s appointment was completed after a rigorous recruitment process and selection procedure, spanning two days, with a panel consisting of an independent HR specialist and our sportscotland Partnership Manager. The panel were extremely impressed with Blair’s presentation and vision for the future of Volleyball in Scotland. As a result, he emerged successful from what was a very talented shortlist of applicants.

Blair joined Scottish Volleyball in 2019 as the Regional Development Officer for the West. He has performed extremely well in the role over the past 5 years and was instrumental in forming several key partnerships, new clubs, and an enhanced school delivery programme. He has an Honours Degree in Sports Development and a wealth of experience in management, delivery and planning of both community and performance sport. One of Blair’s first duties will be to lead the recruitment and appointment of two new Development Officers, which are now vacant.

Reflecting on the appointment and challenge ahead, Blair said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be appointed as Scottish Volleyball Head of Development.

“I look forward to adding two new members to an already strong team and leading them and Volleyball in Scotland, to new heights.

“We have lots of ambitious plans for growth and improvement and I look forward to working with all our partners and volleyball community to achieve them over my tenure.

“I would like to thank the CEO, Board and the membership for their continued support and look forward to even more special moments on and off the court as we deliver our We Are Volleyball strategic plan.”
