Scottish Volleyball Announce New Strategic Plan ‘We Are Volleyball’ 2023-2027

Scottish Volleyball is delighted to share with you our strategic plan for the next four years. Shaped from our membership review and consultation (May-August 2022) and engagement with our partners, we are pleased to announce the publication of #WeAreVolleyball 2023-2027.

Strategic Plan – We Are Volleyball – https://issuu.com/scottishvb/docs/strategic_plan_2023-2027

Our plan is under pinned by the continued support of our key partner sportscotland. “Scottish Volleyball has worked exceptionally hard to ensure members, clubs, partners and stakeholders have been involved in the shaping of our new plan. As a Board we can announce that we have received confirmation, based on the presentation of We Are Volleyball in November 2022 from sportscotland of their continued support for the next four years, both with investment and in enhanced support, in the key areas of staffing, programming and governance”- Scottish Volleyball Board of Directors.

Our plan is built on the strong foundations of the Bigger, Better, Stronger era and as the sporting industry and indeed the world moves on from the challenges of the pandemic, our key focus of this plan is to Recover, Rejuvenate and Refocus.

“We are Volleyball” is initiative in its ambition to work with new and diverse partners, positive in its determination to grow the sport in our indoor, beach and sitting programmes, and designed to protect the future of our sport as we embark on another exciting four years.

The plan is delivered in five key areas: –

Clubs

We recognise clubs are the backbone of our sport and a stronger club leads to a stronger, more stable sport with more opportunities for people to play and get involved in volleyball.

Work Force

Developing our work force including volunteers, coaches, officials and staff will allow our volleyball to continue to flourish and be ready for the challenges ahead.

Community

We aim to ensure our sport enhances further the positive impacts it has across Scotland. We want more people, playing more volleyball more often!

Performance

With the continued support of external partners, we aim to provide more performance opportunities than ever before for our athletes in beach and indoor volleyball to represent Scotland and raise the level of our game.

Governance

Ensure that Scottish volleyball is fully compliant in all aspects of good governance with financial growth and robust accountability to our members and stakeholders/partners.

We are emerging from a testing time for our sport and community, but I know we are stronger because of the challenges we have all overcome.

Our staffing and volunteer structure is strengthening, and we have the funding in place to grow more as this plan develops, along with the dedicated staff, Board, commissions, clubs, members, officials and volunteers, Scottish Volleyball is looking forward to delivering this plan and urge the Scottish Volleyball family to unite behind it as one because, together #WeAreVolleyball

“We are Volleyball” was first introduced to clubs and members at our recent Inverclyde Get Together and members meeting on the 12th of March 2023. Notes from the Get Together can be read below:
