Scottish Volleyball CEO, Margaret Ann Fleming, commented, “After the success of our young beach female athletes placing fourth at the last youth Commonwealth games in the Bahamas, it is fabulous news to have once more the opportunity for our young beach players to shine again on the international stage in Trinidad and Tobago. We look forward in future years from the international commonwealth games federation for the opportunity for both our boys and girls to compete in upcoming youth Commonwealth games.”

Programme Lead and Head Coach, Felipe Humana-Paredes also commented, “The youth athletes in Scotland are the future of the high performance program, so opportunities such as the Youth Commonwealth Games are incredibly valuable for their development as beach volleyball players. We are thrilled to send a youth team to represent Scotland on an international stage.”

The Beach Volleyball competition will take place at Pigeon Point Beach from August 5-10, with England, Canada, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and South Africa among the teams competing in the men’s event. In the women’s event, defending champions Australia will face off against the Cayman Islands, Kenya, Scotland, and Bermuda amongst other nations.
