As part of the exciting new partnership announced this morning by Scottish Volleyball, CEO Margaret Ann Fleming said, ‘We are delighted to confirm that a key objective is to support our National Teams and Beach Performance Programme.’
The staff at UWS, who delivery the BA (Hons.) Degree course in Sports Coaching & Development, have an extensive background in sport and academia. Several of them already work with performance athletes across a range of sports. Having this expertise available to work alongside our National Teams is a great ‘coup’ for the programme. National Team coach, Ally Jack, confirmed “I was delighted to learn of the partnership with the University of the West of Scotland sports team. Working with the UWS staff on a range of topics including, sports psychology, physical preparation and nutrition will bring a wealth of knowledge to our coaching staff, which can only benefit the players and wider programme. I also look forward to helping shape the next generation of sports professionals, who are undertaking their degree at the UWS Ayr campus”
