The 2015 Women’s Thistle Bowl Final was an even contest throughout between the University of Edinburgh and QTS Kyle TA women.
The students started off the game well, taking a close fought first set 25 – 23 with solid defensive play at the net and a strong serve reception game to maintain pressure on Kyle. There was nothing in it as Kyle got the upper hand thanks to a run of unforced errors half way through the second set to even up at 25 – 20.
The students found their mojo again and the third set was almost an exact replica of the first. So was the score, 25 – 23 to the University.
From that point on QTS Kyle TA played a strong consistent game to take advantage of increased errors and misunderstanding in the University team to take the next two sets 25 – 13, 15 – 9 and run out confortable winners of the 2015 Thistle Bowl.
