The resignation of Simon Coleman (after many years of dedicated commitment) from the post as Head Coach of the YS Men’s programme created the need for a recruitment drive to identify and appoint his successor. The SVA’s Coaches Commission took the view that in the light of the forthcoming matches for the YS Men’s team in December, and the urgent need to prepare the squad for this competition there was a pressing need to stabilise the position in the short term. Accordingly an approach was made to Ian Brownlee to invite him to take on the post and the responsibiltieis on an interim basis until the end of December 2010.
Ian, who is an SVA Staff Tutor and one of our most experienced Club coaches, has accepted the challenge and is already in the process of organising practice sessions and contacting players.
On behalf of everyone involved with Scottish Volleyball we wish Ian every success in his interim role, and look forward to him continuing the considerable success he has achieved in his Club Coaching career.
